Eating Healthy

Eating healthy can be hard, and even expensive, but it is important to eat healthy to live a long life. It is also important to be a role model for kids and eat healthy. You want to make sure they are getting the right foods and nutrients they need.

Fruits and vegetables should be a part of every meal. You should consume at least five servings daily. This seems like a lot, but if you eat it with every meal, it should not be too difficult. You can have them for a snack too. If you have them readily available at your home or office, it will be easy to grab and go.

Another way to eat healthy is to eat lean meats and protein. These include fish, eggs, beans, and nuts. Fiber is also important in your diet. This would include whole grain breads and cereals.

There are foods that you should eat plenty of, like fruits and vegetables, but there are also some foods that you should limit. Fried, grilled, broiled and roasted food should be limited. Also fast food and low-nutrient snacks should be limited. Chips, candy, McDonalds, Taco Bell, and ice cream should only be eaten once in a while.

If you think about plant like foods, you will eat healthy. There are five foods that are inexpensive, and would be a great addition to your diet daily. One is frozen vegetables. The others are salmon, brown rice, edamame, and sweet potatoes. Sticking to the food pyramid is your best bet in eating healthy.
